Unplug Your Kids-Hot
This weeks theme for Unplug Your Kids was Hot. Besides the fact that it was scorching outside (over 100 degrees almost everday) we decided to do Hot Rocks. I got the idea from another Unplugged Family and a project they had done another week. The boys really liked it. We used rocks we collected on a nature walk several weeks ago and heated them in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Then we melted crayons on them. We added the rocks to our growing collection of "Welcome Rocks" at our front door. If you do this project make sure to give your kids pot holders to handle the rocks because they will be hot.

Oh I love hot rocks. Those came out so cute. Good Job.
Hot rocks look like a lot of fun. I'm going to have to remember this one. Good job guys.
ohhh so fun! Who knew there was so much to do with broken or funky crayons? so cool!
Awesome! We will most definitely be doing this sometime in the near future! Thanks for sharing!

I love hot rocks! We haven't tried them yet with BabyGirl around... she's just 21 months and VERY impulsive, so I think we'll wait a while longer before doing these again.
I like your idea for a collection of "Welcome Rocks." I may have to use that here at our house!
I love this project :) We still haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Yours turned out great!
beautiful rocks so colourful!! My girls wanted to do it again for the challenge as we had done it before!! but we have no rocks... I am going to have to take a trip to the river to get some.. or the store to buy some!!
I've been wanting to try this project but I've been afraid that my little one is too little at 3 to do it - never thought of letting her use a pot holder though. She might like that. I LOVE your welcome rocks. Very cute!
Oh, they are so pretty! We'll have to try that one sometime. Thanks for joining in!
Well, we did it! The kids had so much fun! I'll be blogging about the experience on Monday. Thanks for the idea!
