Didn't Quite Get It

Tonight we read A Load of Trouble and Seth didn't quite get it. It is based on Proverbs 20:17 "Bread gained by deciet is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel." It's all about a little mouse who lies to get bread crumbs. It's a cute little story.
Well, Seth totally misunderstood two lines in the book.
Following is how it all went down:
"Deceive means to fool somebody or to cause somebody to believe an untruth," said Papa. "In a way, it's just like lying." ---to which Seth said, "Oh like this" and got down on the floor and roared like a lion. You know lying/lion.
THEN...
Papa said, "Remember, Pastor Shepherd told the people a few weeks ago, The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked."---and Seth said, "Like Star Wars, Wicket!" You know, Wicket, the Ewok.

Transformer Easter Eggs

This was the first year we actually attempted to dye Easter Eggs with the boys and it really went much more smoothly than I anticipated. They picked out a Transformers Kit at Target to use for eggs and on Saturday night before Easter we set about dying eggs. They had a lot of fun and it really wasn't messy. I felt bad that we were taking the focus off Christ and using Transformers, so we talked about how the Transformers are called "transformers" because they change from one thing to anther. Then I told them that Jesus wants to transform us too. He wants to change our hearts and help us not make bad choices. They thought that was pretty cool.

Church Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, before Easter, our church had a big Easter Egg hunt at Zilker Park. It was so much fun. The boys got to play at the park before the hunt and there were TONS of eggs for them to find. We ended up getting a flat tire while we were there and then our spare had a HUGE hole in it. So, the boys got to play some more while Jerad went and got another tire with a friend.

Not sure if you can see it, but this little squirrel stole an Easter Egg before the kids got out to hunt them.

One of the girls that works in our Children's Ministry actually owns this adorable little bunny and she brought it for the kids to play with. Seth LOVED it!

Wyatt had so much fun sliding from side to side on this thing.

I love this picture

Mom's Group Easter Egg Hunt

We had four Easter Egg Hunts of the Easter Holiday (unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the second one we went to at a friends house). This was our first one and it was with our Mom's Bible Study Group that we go to on Thursday Mornings. The weather was cold and windy, but the boys had a great time. The hunt was at a new park that we hadn't been to before so they loved playing while we hid the eggs. Then they had a blast hunting for the eggs.

Jesus and Chuy's

This afternoon when we left Chuy's after filling our belly's with lunch Seth looked at their sign and said, "Look it's Jesus! He's got the whole world in his hands!" They've been singing that kids song at church and I guess it's stuck with him.

Hook 'Em Horns

On Sunday we went to the Texas Longhorns Spring Scrimmage Football Game to celebrate my Grandfather's 85th birthday. It was the boys first time in the stadium and they loved it. Seth kept saying that he wanted the Longhorns to win and we assured him that it wouldn't be a problem. Wyatt kept saying he wanted the Steelers to win; I think he was remembering the Super Bowl. We started out with a talegate party and then headed in to the game. Reece tired quickly, but it was so fun. Can't wait for football season to start! Hook 'Em!!!!

Conversations between brothers with a little interjection from Mom

The following conversation took place in our van one morning on the way home after we dropped Jerad off at work:

Seth: I have Jesus in my heart.

Wyatt: Well, do you pray?

Seth: No.

Wyatt: You should. I pray all the time. Sometimes I talk to Jesus even when I'm not praying.

Me: You do? What do you talk to Him about?

Wyatt: I like to talk to Him about TV shows. Especially the bad TV shows. I want to know why they're bad and why they just can't be good.

Me: What does Jesus say?

Wyatt: He says they're just bad and we shouldn't watch them.

Me (silently): Thank you Lord.

Hiking Lake Georgetown

A couple of weeks ago we all went hiking one Saturday morning around Lake Georgetown. We had so much fun. The rail is almost all shaded, so it never gets too hot. There are a few steep parts, but the boys did a great job. They had a blast throwing rocks into the water and Wyatt kept picking up shells along the shore. We can't wait to go back and go camping.

New Portraits

We took the boys to JC Penny to get some new pictures taken and they turned out sooooo cute. We had such a hard time picking which ones to get, but since they're so cheap we got almost all of them. Aren't their green shirts cute? I got them at Target for $7!! They're going to wear them for Easter.
