More Pictures from Jesus' Birthday Party

Jesus Birthday Cake
On Christmas Day we made a birthday cake for Jesus. It wasn't anything fancy, but the boys sure enjoyed it and I was glad that we found a way to teach them about the reason that we celebrate Christmas.

Fun with Make It Yourself Play Dough
Jerad found a website that had directions on how to make play dough out of flour, water, salt, oil, and cream of tartar. We used all the colors of food coloring and Wyatt liked Yellow the best. So, having all of that in our pantry we decided to give it a try. It turned out great. It is literally just like the stuff you buy in the store. It was really easy and only took about 10 minutes. Wyatt watched me make it and then I let both of the boys play with it. Seth just kept trying to eat it, but since it was made out of basic food ingredients I wasn't worried about that. Wyatt liked it and made a couple of "Larry Boys." I think they'll will like it a lot more when they are a little older and I also think it will be a good way to teach some math skills using the measuring of the ingredients when they are much older. The best part was Wyatt yelling "I love Play Dough" while I was making it (I don't think he's ever played with it before) and then when I gave it to him he said, "Thanks Mom." It was super sweet.

The Great Pretenders

I let the boys play in Wyatt's room this morning and when I went to open the door I heard a lot of movement inside. When I walked in they were both lying in the bed and Wyatt was pretending to be asleep. I thought they were too little to play games like that, but I guess I was wrong. I couldn't get to the camera fast enough to get a picture, but I still thought these were pretty cute.

Decorating for Christmas
We started decorating for Christmas on Saturday. Wyatt enjoyed sticking the pictures of Santa and the Snowmen on the back door and dining room window. We still need to put up the tree, but everything else is done.
Cool DudeWyatt has outgrown his plain blue tennis shoes. So, we pulled out the tennis shoes that I got him on clearance last year at Toys R Us for $7. They are gray with red lions on them and they came with a matching arm band. Jerad put the arm band on Wyatt and said he looked like a "Cool Dude." Wyatt went around the rest of the day telling us that he was a "Cool Dude."

We had a great outing with the Cotton's and the Brunson's to the Austin Science and Nature Center. They boys enjoyed looking at the animals and then digging for dinosaur bones in the sand pit.

Tired Boys
The boys would not take a nap today, so I put on a Veggie Tales Video about 4pm and came upstairs to check email. I was gone for about 3 minutes and when I came back down this is what I found. Don't worry, I moved Seth off the table. The coffee table was pushed up against the couch because earlier in the day Seth kept pulling the drawers open so that he could sit in them.

New Cowboy Bedding

Wyatt's Gram got him some new Cowboy bedding. He had another set of Cowboy bedding, but we discovered after we got it home that it was mislabeled and meant for a double bed instead of a twin bed. So, she found this on ebay and got it for him. I think I'm nesting today and I decided to take apart his bed and put the new bedding on. When I got it all on the bed Wyatt looked at me and said, "Mommy I love guitar and Cowboy Hat." His new thing is that he always wants to know who gave him something. So, he asked who gave him the blanket and I told him that his Gram gave it to him. He got very excited and said, "Oh, I like Gram."
I personally like that it has a bedskirt and so it covers up the tubs of clothes and toys under the bed : )

The Mess Brothers

I literally left the boys alone for 5 minutes in Wyatt's room while I went to clean up the kitchen. I heard some noise and when I came back up this is what I found. I had left them in a fairly clean room. All the books were on the shelves and tub that Wyatt is in was under the bed with toys in it. It also took me a few seconds to find Wyatt when I opened the door. I'm praying for a sweet, calm, laid back little girl!!

Early Mornings

This morning Seth woke up at 5:05am. I got up and got him some juice and put him in bed with me. He tossed and turned for a while (head butting me in the mouth and busting my lip in the process) and was about to go to sleep when Wyatt decided to get up and come in our room. He climbed up on the bed and said "Hi Everybody!" There's nothing like super early mornings!

Spaghetti Dinner

Seth loves Spaghetti, but he likes to feed himself. So, we usually end up with something like this. We went straight from the high chair to the bathtub.

Trip to Dallas

We went to Dallas for cousin Katie's wedding. The next day we took the boys to the Galleria and they had a great time playing in the playcourt. We also saw our friends the Coyle's, but for some reason I completely forgot to get pictures of them. Wyatt and Seth enjoyed playing with Noah and his dog, Sugar.

Carebear and Ninja Turtles

Our good friend, Ed, gives us the clothes that his two boys have outgrown. In the last bag of clothes that we got from him there were a lot of costumes. Wyatt loved the Carebear costume and Ninja Turtles shoes. They don't really go together, but we thought he was cute!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to Sweet Berry Farms to get pumpkins with our friends the Cottons. We enjoyed a hayride, petting goats, picking out pumpkins and and a picnic.

Wyatt and Coralee had a holding hands bonding moment together : )

It's A...

Well, it's official. We will be adding a tiny baby GIRL to our family in March! We're surprised and very excited. Right now we are throwing around a few names, but we really like Reese. If you ask Wyatt he will tell you that he's having a baby sister and that he calls her Eese.
So, it's out with all the blue boy clothes and time to add a lot of pink and bows. YEAH!!
